Gerasimos Kommatas and Konstantinos Fetsis advised the shareholders of a well known Greek industrial company producing flexible packaging materials on the sale of their majority stake in the company to one of the largest European companies in the market.

Takis Kommatas and Gerasimos Kommatas, together with another Athens-based law firm, advised a bank, which was newly set-up as an interim institution as per the banking reorganization legislation, in the drafting of the employment contracts of its entire personnel, as well as in the subsequent negotiations with the Labour Union for, and the drafting of, a Collective Labour Agreement.

Kommatas & Associates was named Greek Employment Law Firm of the Year in the context of the 2012 Legal Awards held by Acquisition International Magazine.

Our Managing Partner, Takis Kommatas, spoke at a conference organized by the Greek People Management Association (www.gpma.gr), an association of HR professionals, which was held at the premises of the American College of Greece. The conference was about the practical implementation of the new labour laws which have been recently enacted in the context of the country’s financial crisis.

Kommatas & Associates advised the Greek subsidiary of a major player in the global renewable energy market in the acquisition of a controlling stake in a Greek company owning a large portfolio of photovoltaic projects in Greece. Our work for the matter included an extensive legal due diligence review of the Target Company, the delivery of a due diligence report, the drafting and negotiation of the transaction documentation (including a share purchase agreement and a shareholders’ agreement) and assistance with the closing of the transaction.

We represented a large industrial company in a successful action to declare a long lasting employee strike as illegal. Apart from the judicial action, our work included, inter alia, advising on the collective redundancies legislation and assisting in the negotiations with the employees’ union and the Ministry of Labour.

We were appointed by the liquidators of a large insurance company as the liquidation lawyers of the company in relation to employment law claims brought against it by a large number of its former employees.
